Job summary

Noble Corporation seeks an experienced drilling operations leader to ensure rig activities align with the contract and that well programs are executed per operator instructions. You will liaise daily with offshore leadership, the operator's onshore representative, and Noble's onshore support staff to fulfill contract obligations.

Qualifications

  • OMDP experience or 5+ years offshore experience.

Responsibilities

  • Apply effective and efficient well execution plans and ensure rig crews are properly inspecting, maintaining and operating assigned drilling rigs.
  • Responsible to ensuring the Noble Maintenance Program is properly implemented and maintained on each assigned rig.
  • Guide rig personnel in pre-planning upcoming jobs with materials on hand to ensure that all planned and unplanned opportunities are maximized.
  • Maintain competent and capable rig crews and provide leadership in fostering the safety-is-a-value culture.
  • Assist in annual budget preparations and cost control procedures and be accountable for rig operating budget.
  • Responsible for safe team work with respect to all rig operations.
  • Promote the principles of continuous improvement.
  • Maintain good two way communication with team members, both onshore and offshore.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance is properly maintained.
  • Coordinate the development of newly appointed senior team members offshore.
  • Provide guidance and support to onshore and offshore personnel as required.
  • Ensure interfaces to operator HSE programs are defined and understood by rig crews.
  • Perform a necessary key leadership role for the assigned region.
  • Support the provision of consulting and specialist services related to all aspects the operation of assigned MODU's.
  • Work to keep personnel turnover to a minimum.
  • Ensure the application of Noble's policies and procedures to create effective work practices.
  • Act as a communicator for functional and organizational activities between assigned rigs and office personnel.

Job description

Provide drilling expertise and leadership to ensure that drilling rig operations are conducted in accordance with the drilling contract and that well programs are executed in accordance with operator's instructions. Liaise on a daily basis with Noble's offshore leadership, with the operator's onshore representative, and with Noble's onshore support staff in the execution of contract obligations. Execute Noble's drilling/core business in a safe, efficient and environmentally responsible manner with the utmost consideration to our customers' needs for assigned assets.

QUALIFICATIONS

OMDP experience or 5+ years of offshore experience. Effective drilling operations management and leadership skills. Ability to promote a "safety-is-a-value" culture. Good working knowledge of general drilling systems for offshore based operations. Working knowledge of HSE practices common to the company and the industry. Leadership and teamwork skills and behaviors which support a team based organization. Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to understand and react with diverse groups and operations. Ability to recognize and resolve conflict. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Travel is an essential job function (domestic, international and offshore).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Responsible to ensuring the Noble Maintenance Program is properly implemented and maintained on each assigned rig. Guide rig personnel in pre-planning upcoming jobs with materials on hand to ensure that all planned and unplanned opportunities are maximized. Maintain competent and capable rig crews and provide leadership in fostering the "safety-is-a-value" culture. Assist in annual budget preparations and cost control procedures and be accountable for rig operating budget. Responsible for safe team work with respect to all rig operations. Promote the principles of continuous improvement. Maintain good two way communication with team members, both onshore and offshore. Ensure that standards of supervision and employee performance are monitored and communicated to rig crews through verbal communication and continous conversations. Ensure equipment repair and returns are monitored and expedited and certification requirements are met. Perform audits and rig inspections as necessary to maintain the highest operational standards. Coordinate the development of newly appointed senior team members offshore. Ensure regulatory compliance is properly maintained. Participate in company required and recommended training. Provide guidance and support to onshore and offshore personnel as required. Ensure compliance with Noble's HSE Management System. Ensure that interfaces to operator HSE programs are defined and understood by rig crews. Perform a necessary key leadership role for the assigned region. Support the provision of consulting and specialist services related to all aspects the operation of assigned MODU's. Support the provision of offshore drilling services including HSE performance, operation and maintenance of assigned region drilling units and performance of all ancillary operations and services which are provided within the region. Work to keep personnel turnover to a minimum. Ensure the application of Noble's policies and procedures to create effective work practices. Act as a communicator for functional and organizational activities between assigned rigs and office personnel. Facilitate personnel resource and succession planning and promote appropriate professional development and training opportunities for employees. Other duties as assigned.
