Job summary
Radisson Hotel Group is seeking an Area Chief Engineer to lead engineering strategy across Oslo hotels. You will manage engineering operations, CapEx projects and asset performance while guiding hotel teams to deliver operational excellence.
The role blends hands-on leadership with project management, budgeting and collaboration with owners, contractors and leaders to uphold safety and building standards across the portfolio.
Qualifications
- Engineering degree or similar qualification in mechanical, electrical, building services or technical installations.
- Extensive experience leading engineering/maintenance or technical operations across multiple sites.
- Experience managing large technical projects, renovations and CapEx investments.
- Strong understanding of property maintenance and building systems.
- Excellent budgeting and commercial awareness, including investment planning.
- Proven leadership to coach, influence and develop teams.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills with multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management with hotel leaders, owners, contractors and suppliers.
- Proactive, solution‑oriented mindset with problem solving and conflict resolution.
- Fluency in Norwegian and English, both written and spoken.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach and support Chief Engineers across Oslo area hotels to ensure consistency and best practice.
- Oversee engineering operations, maintenance and safety standards to the highest level.
- Plan and manage major refurbishment, renovations, and technical installations from budgeting to execution.
- Manage CapEx projects, long‑term investments, and engineering budgets for cost‑effective delivery.
- Support hotel engineering teams with procurement, project planning and technical administration.
- Act as liaison between Radisson Hotel Group, owners, contractors and suppliers.
- Ensure preventive maintenance programmes are planned, monitored and improved.
- Coordinate engineering strategies to maximise asset performance and reduce downtime.
- Oversee sustainability initiatives including energy-saving projects and building systems optimisation.
- Collaborate with security teams to coordinate fire safety and safety procedures across properties.
- Ensure compliance with legislation, health & safety, fire regulations and company standards.
- Build relationships with General Managers and hotel leadership to provide technical guidance.

The Area Chief Engineer role offers the opportunity to shape and lead the engineering strategy across our hotels in the Oslo area. The role is responsible for leading and overseeing the engineering, security and technical operations.
In addition to being a hands‑on position, this role focuses on leadership, project management, asset optimisation and supporting our hotel engineering teams to deliver operational excellence.
Working across our Oslo portfolio, you will oversee engineering operations, major maintenance projects, CapEx investments, technical compliance and security coordination while acting as a trusted advisor to hotel leadership, property owners and external partners.

- Lead, coach and support the Chief Engineers across the Oslo area hotel portfolio, creating consistency, structure and best practice.
- Oversee engineering operations across our hotels in the Oslo area, ensuring maintenance, safety and technical standards are delivered to the highest level.
- Plan, manage and oversee major refurbishment, renovation and technical installation projects from budgeting through execution.
- Manage CapEx projects, long‑term investment plans and engineering budgets, ensuring cost-effective delivery and value for owners.
- Support hotel engineering teams with procurement, investment applications, project planning and technical administration.
- Act as the technical liaison between Radisson Hotel Group, property owners, contractors and external suppliers.
- Ensure effective preventive maintenance programmes are planned, monitored and continuously improved.
- Coordinate engineering strategies that maximise asset performance, minimise downtime and improve operational efficiency.
- Oversee engineering‑related sustainability initiatives, including energy‑saving projects and optimisation of building systems.
- Work closely with the dedicated security team to ensure fire safety, emergency procedures, compliance inspections and technical safety programmes are effectively coordinated across all properties.
- Ensure all engineering activities comply with legislation, health & safety requirements, fire regulations and Radisson Hotel Group standards.
- Build strong relationships with General Managers and hotel leadership teams, providing expert technical guidance and support.
We are looking for someone who combines strong technical knowledge with excellent leadership and organisational skills.
You will ideally have:
- An engineering qualification or degree, preferably within mechanical, electrical, building services or technical installations.
- Extensive experience leading engineering, maintenance or technical operations across multiple sites or complex properties.
- Experience managing large technical projects, renovations, CapEx investments and contractor relationships.
- Strong understanding of property maintenance, building systems and technical installations.
- Excellent financial and commercial awareness, including budgeting and investment planning.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to coach, influence and develop teams.
- Outstanding planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to work with hotel leaders, owners, contractors and suppliers.
- A proactive, solution‑oriented mindset with excellent problem‑solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Fluency in Norwegian and English, both written and spoken.
