Overview

Your Role

As our new Application Engineer with a Product Management focus, you’ll be in a key technical customer-facing role: helping our global customers navigate our advanced product portfolio and integrate our motors into their next-generation systems. You’ll also play a strategic role in shaping our future products, acting as the bridge between market needs and product development.

Application Engineering

• Support the sales team in technical discussions during customer meetings
• Help customers navigate our electric motor portfolio to find the optimal solution
• Perform performance calculations and sizing to ensure competitive, high-performing proposals
• Provide hands-on support during customer evaluation, testing, and system integration
• Maintain a deep understanding of Alva’s motor technology, capabilities, and differentiators
• Serve as a key link between customers and the engineering team to ensure successful outcomes
• Prepare technical quotes and proposals in collaboration with engineering and sales

Product Management

• Gather and analyze customer and market feedback to uncover trends and needs
• Support product planning and roadmap decisions with data-backed insights
• Help define new product requirements and prioritize development initiatives
• Create and maintain product documentation, such as datasheets and technical notes

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics Engineering, or similar
• Experience in application engineering or product management within motion systems (e.g. electric motors, encoders, gearboxes, or servo drives)
• Fluent in written and spoken English

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

• Experience integrating and testing motion control systems
• Strong working knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Familiarity with PLM and CRM systems
• Basic programming skills (e.g. Python, C, or graphical environments like LabVIEW)
• Willingness to travel to customer sites and industry events (up to 25%)
• Fluency in German or another European language is a plus
