Job summary

SINTEF Digital is seeking a Junior Research Scientist (MSc) and a Research Scientist (PhD) to join the Analytics and AI group, developing AI and machine learning methods for industrial systems from idea to deployment.

We require MSc/PhD in relevant fields, strong Python experience with PyTorch/JAX/Hydra/MLflow/pandas, and at least three AI/ML areas. You may be eligible for Norwegian security authorization and can combine research with PhD studies.

Qualifications

MSc (Junior Research Scientist) or PhD (Research Scientist) in computer science, statistics, computational physics, control engineering, mathematical optimization, industrial math, or equivalent
Experience with Python and frameworks like PyTorch, JAX, Hydra, MLflow, and pandas
Experience with at least three specified AI/ML areas (e.g., Agentic AI, physical modeling, control systems)
Eligible for Norwegian security authorization (RESTRICTED) if required
Average Master's grade of B or better (for PhD candidates)
Possibility to combine research with PhD studies
