Job summary

Silicon Labs in Oslo is seeking an experienced Analog Design Engineer to join the Oslo Analog Design Team. You will work on low-power Gecko MCU and Wireless MCU platforms, taking an advanced analog task from specification through design and lab validation.

You will collaborate with analog, digital, software teams and marketing to define key features, perform circuit simulations, layout and measurements, and contribute to a culture of innovation in a Nordic office.

Qualifications

  • M.S. or Ph.D in Electrical Engineering covering analog circuit design topics.
  • Knowledge of MOS transistors and analog/digital circuit design.
  • MOS device modeling skills (noise, DIBL, GIDL, NBTI).
  • Design blocks such as OPAMP, power management circuits, ADC/DAC, oscillators, bandgap references, PLL.
  • Experience with layout tradeoffs and circuit verification.

Responsibilities

  • Take analog design tasks through all phases: specification, architecture, design, verification, layout and lab measurement.
  • Collaborate with analog, digital, software and marketing teams to define key features for Gecko MCU platform.
  • Deliver low-power, highly integrated analog solutions for MCU/Wireless MCU products.

How Silicon Labs Norway Works

We are an elite team of IC Design, IC Validation, Software and HW/Tools engineers focused on developing and validating key components of the Silicon Labs IoT product portfolio. Our team has a deep understanding of all aspects of our MCU and Wireless products, from design to delivering a complete customer friendly system. Silicon Labs EFR32 and EFM32 MCU and Wireless product portfolios both originate from the Norway team. We take great pride in the technology that we deliver. How the Oslo Analog Design Team works

The EFR32 and EFM32 MCU and Wireless products combine an energy-friendly MCU with a highly integrated radio transceiver.These devices are well suited for a variety of applications across a wide range of RF protocols, digital protocols, and power levels.

The Oslo analog design team is, in collaboration with sites in Austin and Singapore, responsible for development of these products. We deliver a low power, simplicity focused platform, which is the base for all Silicon Labs MCUs and Wireless MCUs.

We leverage our history of low power, simplicity focused designs to make the best products for the future of the Silicon Labs IoT story.

As a Analog Design Engineer, you will work with our other analog teams, digital teams, software teams and the marketing department to define and deliver key features within the low power Gecko MCU and Wireless MCU platform.

You should be a highly motivated, self-driven and talented engineer with background from Analog Circuit Design. You want to learn and work with the typical IC design flow, all the way from initial idea to implementation. This means taking an advanced analog design task through all phases including specification, architecture, design, verification, layout and lab measurement. Successful candidates should have good written and oral communication skills in English and should be comfortable explaining technical concepts to a wide range of audiences, including senior engineering leaders.

Desired Skills

  • Verification skills (e.g., circuit simulation)
  • Laboratory measurement skills
  • Experience with Cadence design tools, Linux, Matlab and Python is an advantage

The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between kr699,650 - kr1,299,350. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, geographic location where work will be performed and applicant’s skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus, equity package and a comprehensive benefits package.
