Job summary

Aker Solutions is seeking an AI Platform & Infrastructure Engineer in Norway to design, build and operate scalable cloud infrastructure enabling enterprise AI across on‑prem, hybrid and cloud environments.

You will collaborate with the AI Centre of Excellence, developers, data scientists and IT teams to implement deployment frameworks, IaC practices and reusable platform components. Fluency in English and a proactive mindset are essential for success.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or related field. Relevant professional experience may compensate for a lack of formal education
• Hands‑on experience designing, deploying and managing cloud platforms and infrastructure, with strong expertise in Microsoft Azure
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and automation using tools such as Terraform, OpenTofu, Bicep, PowerShell or similar technologies
• Experience supporting AI, machine learning or Generative AI workloads, including platform engineering, workload optimization, deployment and operational considerations
• Knowledge of cloud and hybrid architectures, with an understanding of GPUs, compute infrastructure, security, networking and cost optimization
• A proactive and collaborative mindset, with the ability to take ownership, solve complex technical challenges and work effectively across multidisciplinary teams
• Fluent written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Design, build and operate secure, scalable and automated cloud infrastructure and platform capabilities that enable enterprise AI solutions to move efficiently from experimentation into production
• Deploy, operate and optimize AI workloads across cloud, hybrid and on-premises environments, balancing performance, scalability, security and cost
• Own and evolve AI platform services, deployment frameworks and Infrastructure-as-Code practices to support reliable and repeatable delivery
• Evaluate new AI platform technologies, architectures and services, translating emerging capabilities into practical solutions and recommendations
• Work closely with the AI Centre of Excellence, developers, data scientists and IT teams to establish best practices, technical blueprints and reusable platform components
• Support the lifecycle of AI solutions, from environment setup and deployment to monitoring, optimization and operational readiness
