Job description

ADMS Power Analysis & Distribution Power Flow (DPF) Specialist
Oslo, Norway - Full-time

About the Role

As an GE ADMS Power Analysis & Distribution Power Flow (DPF) Specialist, you will make an impact by designing, configuring, and validating advanced network models that power fault location, service restoration, and distribution power flow analysis within ADMS Series 6 platforms — helping utility clients achieve safer, smarter, and more resilient grid operations. You will be a valued member of our Energy & Utilities Technology team and work collaboratively with utility stakeholders, cross-functional engineering teams, software vendors, and technology partners across complex, large-scale ADMS implementations.

This is a rare opportunity to work at the heart of the energy transition — where modern grid intelligence meets critical infrastructure delivery. Our program includes live ADMS Series 6 implementations, platform upgrades, and a major multi-company data migration consolidating multiple customer environments into a single, unified ADMS Series 6 platform.

In this role, you will:
  • Design and validate ADMS network models that support power flow analysis, fault location and isolation, and service restoration across complex utility networks — the primary focus of this track.
  • Collaborate with utility stakeholders to interpret operational requirements and translate them into detailed SCADA/ADMS solution designs and configurations.
  • Design, implement, and optimize ADMS solutions encompassing core DMS functions, platform upgrades, and new deployments.
  • Draft, coordinate, and execute Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and Site Acceptance Test (SAT) plans for new features, patches, and platform upgrades.
  • Perform root cause analysis on incidents involving SCADA telemetry, ADMS applications, and field device integrations — driving swift and sustainable resolution.
  • Partner with data and analytics teams to expose SCADA/ADMS data for operational reporting and regulatory compliance needs.
  • Coordinate with network and cybersecurity teams to ensure secure connectivity and adherence to compliance standards.
  • Provide advanced technical support and guidance to control room operators and field personnel.
  • Collaborate with software vendors and internal engineering teams on defect tracking, issue resolution, and platform roadmap alignment.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues in fast-paced operational environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence and credibility to engage utility stakeholders, engineering peers, and vendor partners effectively.
  • Experience working independently in a hybrid, distributed, cross-functional team environment, delivering quality outcomes with minimal supervision.
These Will Help You Stand Out
  • Hands-on experience with SCADA and ADMS technologies in a delivery or engineering support context.
  • Familiarity with project and test management tools including Jira, Test, and Confluence.
  • Practical experience with Windows and Linux system administration.
  • SQL and/or shell scripting skills for data analysis, configuration support, and automation tasks.
