Job description

The Accountant is responsible for all aspects of accounting and oversees the day-to-day activities of the accounting processes. He/she ensures that the organisation's finance function is well organised as well as produces timely and accurate financial statements and management accounts, thus achieving compliance with corporate policies and statutory requirements.

He/She must also analyse data and understand the financial performance and position of the organisation in order to develop suitable accounting policies to meet reporting requirements and to tabulate any reports required by the management team.

The Accountant often works closely with the management, board, and other finance and accounting specialists and works closely with the internal and external auditors, bankers, and regulators. He/she must keep current with changing statutory requirements and tax laws and determine the implications of such changes to financial reporting.

He/She may also work with the leadership team to help define the organisation’s overall finance strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day financial operations including AP, AR, GL, and month-end closing activities
  • Prepare monthly management reports, financial statements, and cash flow projections
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Ensure compliance with local statutory requirements, including GST and corporate tax filings
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and regulatory authorities
  • Support cost control initiatives and recommend process improvements
  • Monitor and analyse financial data to support strategic decision-making
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely reporting
  • Assist in tender exercises and conduct pre-qualification checks on vendors
  • Support the development of financial models to support programmes teams and evaluate ROI
  • Provide financial advice and strategic support for programmes expansion, including financial data required for funding applications.
Requirements
  • Minimally possess an ACCA or have passed the final examination in accountancy of the Singapore Chartered Accountant Qualification (SCAQ); or
  • Possess an accountancy degree from a Singapore Accreditation Council (SAC) accredited university
  • At least 5-8 years in accounting and/or finance, in roles with proven track record in accounting management
  • Able to work collaboratively with various stakeholders in the organisation.
  • Possess interpersonal skills allowing efficient communication with others to achieve mutual consensus and outcomes.
  • Able to identify problems and solve using given guidelines.
  • Possess service-oriented mindset to commit to meet the needs of internal and external clients.
  • Able to choose a course of action from various alternatives using a reasoned process to achieve intended goals.
  • Displays integrity in the day to day working and dealing with stakeholders.
