Job summary

Job description

Areas Of Responsibilities

The position supports the Team Leader – Payments and handles the following:

  • Processing and payment of all OPI and OMPI payables, including crew-related costs
  • Managing crew allotments and generating required government reports
  • Handling the payment of crew union dues and contributions to the seaman’s welfare fund
Tasks
  • Ensures fund sufficiency and converts funds promptly for operational needs
  • Checks the status of accounts payable in Agresso and prioritizes payments based on due dates
  • Prepares supplier payments for OMAS, OMPI, and OPI
  • Creates corresponding BIR 2307 forms, if applicable
  • Provides payment details to suppliers and collects official receipts in exchange for payments
  • Processes employee cash advances and liquidations
  • Reconciles allotment register in Compass and payroll allotment list
  • Prepares superintendent’s salary payslips and claims
  • Ensures completeness and orderly filing of important corporate documents (official receipts, tax payments)
  • Prepares monthly reports such as peso bank reconciliations and seaman’s welfare fund monitoring
  • Performs other relevant tasks as assigned by superiors
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in accounting
  • Proficiency in accounting standards, tax regulations, and vessel accounting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Power BI
  • Effective communication skills (spoken and written) at all levels
  • Ability to work well under pressure, take ownership of tasks, and ensure follow-through
  • Able to multitask and work independently or as part of a team
