Job summary

Axtra is seeking an attachment mechanic to repair and maintain hydraulic attachments. You will have your own workspace with good tools and work in an organized, no-nonsense environment, either on location (from Farmsum to the Maasvlakte) or in the workshop.

Experience with hydraulics, grinding, and operating a press, milling machine, radial drill, or lathe is helpful. A valid VCA and forklift certificate, plus driving license B and BE, are preferred or can be obtained.

Qualifications

• You are technically handy and enjoy working with your hands.
• Willing to obtain VCA and forklift certificates if not yet held.
• Driving license B and BE required or obtainable.

Responsibilities

• Connect and test hydraulic attachments in your own workspace.
• Inspect and assess attachments for condition and safety.
• Independently assemble/disassemble and repair attachments in workshop or on customer sites.
• Contribute ideas and reuse parts, replace wear parts.
• Perform grinding operations (cutting and rust removal).
• Operate machines such as a press, milling machine, radial drilling machine and lathe.

What are you going to do?

As attachment mechanic You work daily on repairing and maintaining hydraulic attachments. You have a own workspace (work box) with good tools and works in an organized, no-nonsense work environment.

• Connecting and testing hydraulic attachments, in your own workbox
• Inspecting and assessing attachments
• Independently assembling, disassembling, and repairing attachments, in the workshop or on location at the customer's premises.
• Contributing ideas and reusing parts
• Replacement of (wear) parts
• Grinding operations (cutting through and rust removal)
• Working with machines such as a press, milling machine, radial drilling machine, and lathe

Who is this position for?

This position is a good fit for you if you:

• You are technically handy and enjoy working with your hands
• In possession of a VCA certificate and forklift certificate, or willing to obtain them
• In possession of driving license B and BE
• Have experience as, for example, a forklift mechanic, car mechanic, machine builder, or in agricultural mechanization
• are ready for a stable job with fixed working hours
• You want to develop further (for example in welding and milling; training and courses are possible)
• Are proud of your work and can say: “Look, I made that!”
• You are physically able to get through a workday well (tools are available, but the work can sometimes be tough)
• You don't need a long list of diplomas, but motivation, commitment and craftsmanship considers more important
• You are reliable, social, and collegial — with a healthy dose of humor
• Within approximately 25 km from Axtra lives

Experience is important, but Motivation and attitude carry at least as much weight.
