Job description

The role

As a Warehouse Automation Engineer, you will:

• Use your own vision to design engineering solutions and the associated validation process to enable the realization of a design that conforms to organizational standards.
• Contribute to the analysis of information, the drafting of engineering standards and specifications, and the evaluation of the effectiveness of those standards.
• Carry out inspections to evaluate the quality of engineering works and specify the remedial works needed to ensure conformance with specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Work closely with our supplier, including specifying requirements, challenging their solutions, monitoring the implementation and aftercare, and coordinating with the manager of indirect procurement, legal, and local operations teams.
• Deliver required outcomes by managing day‑to‑day relationships with contract service providers while working within an established contract management plan.
• Continuously improve manufacturing or materials processes and process systems.
• Identify shortcomings in existing processes, systems, and procedures, and use established change‑management programs to address them.
• Define and deliver products and services that meet customer needs by selecting the best possible approaches available within established systems.
• Deliver small‑scale or medium‑scale projects while working within an established program management plan.

Who are you?

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in (Mechanical) Engineering.
• Initial (3+ years) experience in a relevant work setting, e.g., automated e‑commerce warehouses, production, or consultancy role.
• Background as a mechanical engineer is considered an asset.
• Experience with AutoCAD to successfully design systems.
• Good project management skills or ambition to increase responsibility in this role.
• Analytical, conceptually strong, and organizationally savvy.
• Willingness to travel (10% of your time – in Europe).
