Job summary

JD Sports Netherlands is seeking a Visual Town Merchandiser to lead visual merchandising across Amsterdam stores. You will coach store visual teams, refresh displays weekly, and analyze sales trends to maximise profitability during seasonal campaigns.

You will act as the first contact for VM support, collaborate with regional teams, and help drive store performance while ensuring displays reflect latest trends and campaigns.

Job description

Lead visual merchandising across Amsterdam stores by coaching teams, updating displays weekly, analyzing sales trends, and supporting profitable seasonal campaigns.

JD Sports is looking for a Visual Town Merchandiser for a number of stores in the Amsterdam area!

In this role, you will be responsible for a group of stores and act as the first point of contact for visual merchandising support. You will coach and motivate your visual team to create industry-leading visual merchandising presentations. In addition, you will support retail teams, encourage their development, and ensure that store profitability is maximized at every opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emerging trends by presenting products in the best possible way to maximize sales.
• Implement the weekly Visual Merchandising guidelines (VM Pack) in stores where applicable.
• Refresh product presentations to highlight bestsellers and new collections.
• Update window displays weekly to showcase the latest trends and top-selling products.
• Analyze sales data, such as weekly trading reports (store reviews, top 10 by brand), to ensure the store layout is commercially optimized.
• Plan ahead and proactively respond to seasonal changes, peak trading periods, and commercial opportunities.
• Create attractive and eye-catching displays that naturally guide customers through the store.
• Support the Area Visual Manager with information from your stores and region when required.
• Assist stores with major layout changes outside trading hours.
• Support stores with Visual Merchandising e-learning modules and ensure they are always up to date.
• Help lead shopfit projects to support development and growth opportunities when needed.
• Effectively execute new window display concepts and in-store displays when launching new campaigns.
• Regularly communicate with the Visual Support Manager and Area Manager regarding the performance and needs of your stores.
• Build strong working relationships with Store Managers, store teams, and regional teams.

Skills & Experience

• Experience in Visual Merchandising is preferred.
• Experience in Retail Management is an advantage.
• Excellent leadership and time management skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong commercial awareness and business acumen.
• A driving licence is preferred but not essential.
• Willingness to travel to support new store openings.
• Available to work 38 hours per week.
• Proactive, communicative, and analytical.
• Outgoing, confident, and a team player.
• Passionate about keeping up with the latest visual merchandising trends and willing to roll up your sleeves to get the job done.
