TNO is seeking an Azure Cloud & Virtualisation Engineer to maintain Windows and virtualisation environments and migrate workloads to Azure. You will design Azure solutions, build landing zones, and automate deployments using IaC tools while supporting VMware.
The role sits in a hybrid Agile team focused on secure, compliant IT services. You will collaborate with Solution Architects and drive improvements in platform maturity, security, and governance, with a strong emphasis on ITIL 4 processes
What will be your role?As an Azure Cloud & Virtualisation Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and managing TNO's Microsoft Windows and virtualisation environments while supporting the transition of existing workloads to the Microsoft Azure cloud. Working closely with the Agile Cloud team, you will help design Azure solutions and develop migration strategies for moving applications and infrastructure to Azure. You will contribute to building landing zones and implementing cloud solutions using Infrastructure as Code and modern automation tooling. At the same time, you will support the ongoing development of TNO's VMware virtualisation platform and assist in migrating on-premises environments to Azure IaaS and PaaS services. #LI-HybridYou will also help improve service quality, operational processes, and platform maturity while ensuring compliance with security and governance requirements.
As a Virtualisation Engineer, you will join TNO's ICT Infrastructure department, which is responsible for delivering reliable, secure, and future-proof IT services across the organisation. Our mission is to remain relevant to our internal customers through operational excellence and a uniform service concept. ICT services are delivered according to ITIL 4 principles, while our teams work in an Agile environment focused on value creation. In this role, you will become part of a virtual Agile team consisting of professionals responsible for both the development and management of our platforms. You will play a key role in maintaining and continuously improving TNO's virtualisation and cloud environments, directly contributing to the stability, performance, and security of critical business systems.
