Job summary

Moonwalk Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a leading global investment bank to hire a Vice President for its M&A team in Amsterdam. The role is senior, client-facing and focuses on advising large corporate clients and financial sponsors on complex domestic and cross-border transactions.

You will take ownership of live mandates, lead deal teams and contribute to origination and strategic client dialogue, coordinating with international offices and external advisers.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of Investment Banking, M&A or Corporate finance experience.
• Experience executing complex M&A transactions.
• Ownership of live deal processes.
• Strong financial modelling and valuation capabilities.
• Experience managing and developing junior bankers.
• Fluent Dutch and English.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day execution of M&A mandates from inception through completion.
• Run deal teams and manage transaction workstreams against key deadlines.
• Take ownership of client deliverables, including presentations, valuation analyses, financial models and marketing materials.
• Act as a key point of contact for clients and counterparties throughout live transactions.
• Coordinate closely with sector, coverage and financing teams across international offices.
• Manage external advisers, including legal, accounting and tax specialists.
• Contribute to transaction structuring, negotiations and key process milestones.
• Support the origination of new M&A opportunities and broader strategic client dialogue.
• Develop strategic ideas, pitches and transaction proposals.

The successful candidate will take significant ownership of live mandates, manage junior deal teams and contribute to the origination and development of strategic client relationships.

  Candidate Profile

  We are looking for an experienced M&A professional with:

  • 5-8 years of Investment Banking, M&A or Corporate finance experience
  • Demonstrable experience executing complex M&A transactions
  • Experience taking significant ownership of live deal processes
  • Strong financial modelling and valuation capabilities
  • Experience managing and developing junior bankers
  • Confidence interacting directly with senior clients and advisers
  • Strong understanding of M&A processes and transaction dynamics
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and workstreams simultaneously
  • Excellent analytical, communication and presentation skills
  • Experience with cross-border transactions
  • Fluent Dutch and English

  Experience advising large-cap corporates and/or private equity sponsors would be highly relevant.
