Job summary

MSD in Boxmeer is seeking an Associate Scientist to join the Diagnostic Team at the Center for Diagnostic Solutions. The role focuses on planning, executing, and reporting a broad range of diagnostic assays in a collaborative environment with R&D and Global Technical Marketing.

You will contribute to optimizing existing methods, implementing new techniques, and supporting the project team with laboratory coordination and training. A strong GLP-focused mindset and team orientation are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or related field.
• Hands-on experience with immunological and virological laboratory techniques.
• Experience in GLP and ISO-regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Organizing, conducting, and reporting multiple lab assays and processes.
• Identifying, documenting, and following up on assay deviations.
• Ensuring sufficient stock and availability of laboratory reagents and consumables.
• Maintaining and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Identifying, reporting, and following up on equipment malfunctions.
• Supporting the training and onboarding of trainees and new employees.
• Providing laboratory support to the project team.
• Proactively identifying opportunities for improvement and proposing solutions to enhance laboratory processes and workflows.
• Fulfill general tasks related to GLP, SHE, IT and/or laboratory coordination.
• Perform all tasks according to GLP and SHE compliance requirements.
• Close interaction with fellow scientists within own and other departments.
