Job summary

PER, a Leuven-based venture capital firm, seeks a highly analytical professional to join its investment team in Amsterdam. You will manage the full deal lifecycle from initial contact to close, combining technical due diligence with commercial assessment.

You work with Partners and Principals to produce market insights, ESG considerations, and strategic analyses that inform investment theses and fund reporting. Fluent English is required; additional European languages are a plus.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate in physics, electrical engineering, or related technical discipline.
• Interest in deep tech business logic beyond the science.
• Clear, structured thinking and ability to communicate it well.
• Ability to build relationships and handle follow-through.
• Fluent English; other European languages welcome.

Responsibilities

• Scout, analyse, and track promising startups and technologies worldwide.
• Collaborate with Partners and Principals on due diligence across market, finance, and technical deep-dives.
• Deliver sector insights and actionable market intelligence.
• Support marketing, conference planning, deal flow monitoring, ESG assessments, audits, and reporting.

What the job involves

You’ll be embedded in a lean, senior investment team, working across the full lifecycle of a deal from first contact to close. That means tracking emerging companies before they become obvious, running the commercial and technical side of due diligence, synthesising market intelligence into investment theses, and representing the fund at industry events where relationships are made.

You won’t be siloed. You’ll see everything and be expected to have a view on it.

• You actively scout, analyse, and track the most promising start‑ups and technologies worldwide
• You work side by side with Partners and Principals in all aspects of due diligence, from market to finance to technical deep‑dives and team analysis
• You explore new frontiers by delivering sharp sector insights and actionable market intelligence
• You contribute to marketing, conference planning, deal flow monitoring, ESG assessments, audits, financial and Supervisory Board reporting, and process optimization

Who we are looking for
