Job summary

Celonis is seeking a Value Engineer to drive AI-enabled transformations within the Public sector in Amsterdam. You will combine consulting, project management, and hands-on data work to shape end-to-end value journeys.

Working with Senior VEs and the Sales team, you’ll map Celonis into customers’ tech stacks, create initial business cases, and support change activities to unlock ROI and operational improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience: 2+ years with consulting, value engineering, or enterprise software.
• AI & Technical fluency: background in enterprise IT/SaaS; AI-fluent operator.
• Builder mentality: comfortable with ambiguity and customer value focus.
• Process improvement: understands methodologies and aims to realize value.
• Stakeholder & program management: manage milestones and present to stakeholders; fluent English/Dutch.

The Team:

Value Engineering is responsible for our largest Fortune 500 customers and owns their transformation journey by working on the very frontier of what’s possible with data and AI on the Celonis Platform. Partnering closely with the Sales team, Value Engineering is responsible for ensuring that the Celonis Platform is deployed to tackle the most strategic business challenges, fits into the right place in our customers’ technology stack and most importantly generates strong ROI through deep and broad deployments.

The Role:

As a Value Engineer, you will support AI and data-driven business transformation within the Public sector by contributing to your customer’s end-to-end value journey using the Celonis Context Model. Working alongside Senior and Lead VEs, you will combine technical execution with consulting and project management. As an AI-fluent operator, your core mandate is to support complex roadmaps and execute targeted transformation initiatives that improve how these businesses operate end-to-end.

The work you’ll do:

• Value Selling & Realization: Assist in discovering and diagnosing operational improvement opportunities of customers. Support the mapping of Celonis into the customer’s tech stack. Build initial business cases and assist in business value workshops to pinpoint process enhancement opportunities.
• Stakeholder Management: Engage with project managers and middle management to build momentum. Support change management initiatives and contribute to Center of Excellence (CoE) enablement programs.
• Program Management: Assist in executing transformation programs. Leverage AI-driven project management workflows to track milestones and automate reporting. Support the deployment of actionable frameworks to evaluate customer workflows.
• Platform & AI Fluency: Act as an AI-fluent operator, utilizing AI tools for rapid technical outputs (data analysis, basic automations) while partnering with Applied Value Engineers for solution builds.
• Scale Value & Innovation: Support the end-to-end customer value journey and identify expansion opportunities in your workstream. Provide actionable feedback to product development teams based on new use cases discovered in your workstreams.

The qualifications you need:

• Experience: 2+ years of relevant working experience with foundational knowledge in consulting, value engineering, or enterprise software.
• AI & Technical & Fluency: Foundational background in enterprise IT, SaaS, or business software (e.g., SAP). You are an AI-fluent operator, highly proficient at using AI tools to generate technical outputs, partnering with technical teams for deep solutioning.
• Builder Mentality: Comfortable working with ambiguity. Driven by a mandate to live for customer value, you proactively seek out coming up with novel, innovative solution designs for customers.
• Process Improvement: Solid understanding of process improvement methodologies and a strong desire to become a value realization expert.
• Stakeholder & Program Management: Experience managing project milestones and delivering clear presentations to internal and external stakeholders. Flawless English Dutch communication skills.
• Domain & Industry: Foundational understanding of the Finance/Supply Chain domains and Public Sector domains. You stay continuously updated on business-critical use cases.
