Job summary

TWD is seeking an AI Software Engineer to join our Software Engineering team and lead AI integration for offshore wind and heavy civils projects. You will build GenAI apps, select models, fine-tune, and create agentic systems that continuously improve with use.

You will translate user needs into AI features, demo progress to engineers and designers, and stay ahead of AI developments. A strong programming track record and collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a technical field including Computer Science, Data Science or AI.
• Applied Mathematics or Econometrics are strong assets.
• Engineering with a strong programming track record.
• Experience with Python and React for AI-enabled engineering tools.
• Hands-on work with LLMs, modern AI frameworks, finetuning and domain data training.
• Knowledge of RAG and prompt engineering.
• Experience in Microsoft/Azure environment is preferred.

Foundations of Your Job

As an AI Engineer at TWD, you join our Software Engineering team (8 FTE) to build the AI solutions that will reshape our engineering and design projects in Offshore Wind and Heavy Civils. You will pioneer how AI can best be used inside TWD and inspire engineers and designers to work with it.

Your Day-to-day Work Covers

• Build GenAI applications: agents, agentic workflows, and document intelligence
• Select and evaluate language models and integrate them via APIs, SDKs and MCPs
• Create fine-tuned and RAG models based on TWD's engineering and design data
• Build self-learning and agentic systems that improve with use
• Translate user needs into working AI features
• Bring engineers and designers along by giving demos and collecting feedback
• Stay current with the AI landscape and bring new techniques to the team

You own AI projects end-to-end: from scoping through prototyping and development, to deployment, adoption and iteration.

• Master's degree in a technical field, including but not limited to:
• Computer Science, Data Science or Artificial Intelligence
• Applied Mathematics or Econometrics
• Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil or Structural Engineering with a strong programming track record
• Experienced in Python and/or React
• Hands-on experience with LLMs. modern AI frameworks, finetuning and training on domain-specific data
• Knowledge of RAG and prompt engineering
• Experience working in the Microsoft environment with Azure is preferred
• Affinity with engineering and design challenges is a plus
