Job summary

AXIS Career is seeking a skilled TIG Welder to weld and assemble stainless steel piping systems and components. You will work from technical drawings, ensure high-quality welds, and maintain tight tolerances in a two-shift setup.

The role requires experience with purging, full-penetration welds, and accurate clamping/alignment. Dutch/English/German B1 level is acceptable for non-Dutch speakers; VCA certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• TIG welding experience with stainless steel piping and components.
• Ability to read and interpret 3D drawings.
• VCA Basic Safety Certificate preferred.
• Level 2 with relevant work experience also acceptable.

Responsibilities

• TIG weld stainless steel tubing and components per drawings.
• Maintain 1 mm tolerance using European and American projection methods.
• Purging piping systems prior to welding.
• Perform full-penetration welds on piping and components.
• Assemble and tack weld tube and box-section constructions.
• Clamp and align products precisely before welding.
• Read 3D technical drawings and work from production schedule.
• Inspect own work for high-quality finish.
• Cut and machine pipe materials with a sawing machine.
• Perform basic turning and milling operations.
• Collaborate with a team of about eight people.

Job description

As a TIG Welder, you will be responsible for welding and assembling stainless steel piping systems and various components. You will work independently from technical drawings and ensure that the finished product meets established standards and quality requirements.You will work with stainless steel tubing ranging from 10 to 100 mm in diameter and with wall thicknesses of 1 to 3 mm. Attention to dimensions, alignment, and high-quality welds is essential.

What will you do?

• TIG welding of stainless steel tubing and components based on technical drawings and established standards.
• Working with both European and American projection methods while maintaining a maximum tolerance of 1 mm.
• Purging piping systems prior to welding by removing oxygen from the pipe.
• Performing full-penetration welding on stainless steel piping and components.
• Assembling and tack welding tube and box-section constructions.
• Precisely clamping and aligning products before welding.
• Reading and interpreting 3D technical drawings.
• Independently carrying out work according to the production schedule.
• Inspecting your own work and ensuring a high-quality finished product.
• Cutting and machining various pipe materials using a sawing machine.
• Performing basic turning and milling operations.
• Collaborating with colleagues in a team of approximately eight people.

You will primarily work in a two-shift system. When project requirements demand it, you are willing to work overtime in consultation. In short, this is a technically challenging position where your TIG welding experience, technical insight, and attention to detail can truly make a difference. For this position, we are looking for an independent and accurate TIG Welder who values quality highly. You have strong technical insight and understand the importance of proper preparation and precise execution when welding stainless steel piping systems.

In addition, you bring:

• A TIG Stainless Steel qualification at Level 3/4 (EN 287). Level 2 combined with relevant work experience is also acceptable.
• Demonstrable experience in TIG welding stainless steel piping systems and components.
• Experience with purging stainless steel piping.
• Experience in performing full-penetration welds on stainless steel piping and components.
• Ability to read and interpret technical 3D drawings.
• Understanding of proper clamping and alignment techniques for welded products.
• Experience in assembling and tack welding tube and box-section constructions.
• Experience cutting pipe materials with a sawing machine is an advantage.
• Experience with basic turning and milling operations is an advantage.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work in a two-shift schedule.
• Flexibility to work overtime when required.
• Possession of a VCA Basic Safety Certificate (VCA 1) is prefered.
• For non-Dutch-speaking candidates: proficiency in Dutch, English, or German at a minimum B1 level. Knowledge of Dutch is preferred.
