Job summary

European Space Agency (ESA) invites applications for an internship in the Projects Department for the EnVision project. Based at ESTEC in Noordwijk, you will join the EnVision team to advance thermo-elastic modelling of spacecraft and payload interactions and to improve the representation of coupling effects in engineering analyses.

You will work with spacecraft engineers and experts from the Technical Directorate, enrich the existing thermo-elastic model with payload instruments, and develop

Qualifications

• You must be a university student, preferably in your final or second-to-last year of Master's level.
• Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis and NASTRAN or similar FEA software is an asset.
• Background in thermo-elastic distortion analysis is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Support thermo-elastic modelling of spacecraft and payload coupling.
• Enhance structural models by integrating payload instruments and heat-dissipating equipment.
• Perform thermo-elastic analyses to evaluate thermal and structural behaviour and deformation.
• Develop simplified modelling approaches to capture key coupling effects.
