Job summary

European Space Agency in the Netherlands invites an internship in the Projects Department for the EnVision project focusing on thermo-elastic modelling. You will enhance the spacecraft model with payload representation and perform analyses to understand coupling effects on thermal and structural behaviour.

Starting from existing models, you’ll develop simplified representations to improve efficiency, and assess integrated vs.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis.
• Experience with NASTRAN or similar FEA software.
• Understanding thermo-elastic distortion analysis.
• Mechanical Engineering background is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Thermo-elastic analysis of spacecraft structures.
• Structural and thermal modelling using finite element methods.
• Interpret spacecraft performance impacts from thermo-mechanical distortions.
• Develop and validate simplified engineering models.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary spacecraft engineering teams.
• Apply advanced analysis techniques to a real ESA space mission.
