Job summary

Rolls-Royce in Dordrecht is seeking a Technical Specialist – BESS to provide technical support and manage after-sales service for Battery Energy Storage Systems. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a technical field and at least 5 years of experience in energy production, alongside excellent communication skills in English and Dutch.

Qualifications

Within Power Systems a relatively new Business Unit called Sustainable focuses on supply of large scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). Our business revolves around supplying utilities, developers and operators the latest battery systems developed by the Rolls-Royce organization for the Benelux market.

For our office in Dordrecht, The Netherlands, we are looking for a:

Technical Specialist – BESS (m/f)

Business Unit: Sustainable

(Fulltime | 40 hours)

The Technical Specialist is the practical point of contact for customers for preventive and corrective maintenance specifically for our Sustainable Business Unit (BESS and Microgrid Business). You solve issues of assigned tickets by coordinating the required knowledge and resources to find the best solution and communicate with all levels of support to find the required knowledge and skills in the team. You will report to the Head of Service.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver (remote) technical support to the field service team, coordinating with our German team to escalate, monitor, and resolve customer issues effectively.
• Coordinate and manage after-sales service activities, including site visits and oversight of third-party service providers.
• Plan and dispatch technical support resources for Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) service projects.
• Oversee maintenance contracts and maintain regular customer engagement through recurring service reviews.
• Support after-sales commercial activities, including quotation preparation and supplier coordination.
• Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and R&D teams to support project initiatives, resource planning, testing activities, and special projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree (HBO) thinking level or equivalent in a technical / electrical direction;
• Minimum of 5 years of work experience in the technical sector, energy production systems, in-depth knowledge of diesel and/or gas engines in general and cogeneration systems. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Dutch;
• VCA and other safety/technical certificates;
• Minimum computer knowledge required: system, Word, Excel, SAP programs.
