Job summary

Doghouse Recruitment is seeking a Tech Lead Data Architecture & Engineering for a fast-growing trading firm in Amsterdam. You will own the data architecture and drive end-to-end, real-time, high-frequency data pipelines to support trading and research teams.

You will shape the data foundation, set governance and technical hygiene, and collaborate daily with trading, backend and BI colleagues. This is a hands-on leadership role with full ownership from day one.

Qualifications

• Strong in data architecture, workflows and technical direction.
• Experience with real-time / high-frequency / event-driven data.
• Postgres or similar DB knowledge is a big plus; Kafka or streaming tech is beneficial.
• Experience with high-volume or low-latency environments (fintech, trading, etc.).
• You thrive in ownership and autonomy — a hands-on leadership style.

Responsibilities

• Define the data architecture and set the data strategy.

Tech Lead Data Architecture & Engineering | Trading | Amsterdam | Up to € 140K

My client is a ambitious trading firm with big plans. They are moving fast toward becoming a true scale-up but to get there, they need to raise the maturity of their entire tech landscape.

This means data is becoming absolutely critical. Real, high-frequency, event-driven, enterprise-grade data foundations. To make this transition happen, they are now looking for a Lead Data Architecture & Engineering Expert who has done this before and can bring structure, and senior tech leadership to the table from day one. If you've worked in an environment like this before, architected complex data foundations, and love turning chaos into scalable systems.

You will be responsible for:

• Defining the data architecture.
• Bringing structure, workflows, governance and technical hygiene
• Designing proper real-time and high-frequency data pipelines
• Setting the foundation for a future data platform / data warehouse
• Collaborating daily with trading, research, backend & BI teams
• Bringing clarity in a fully fragmented landscape and shaping the roadmap
• Creating clean, reliable, usable datasets for quant & trading teams

Your background:

• Strong in data architecture, workflows, technical direction
• Experience with real-time / high-frequency / event-driven data
• Postgres & Kafka knowledge is a big plus (or similar streaming tech)
• Experience with high-volume or low-latency environments (fintech, payments, trading, etc.)
