Beyond Sports is seeking a Technical Delivery Lead to guide engineering execution, ML innovation, and delivery strategy for real-time sports tech. You’ll balance hands-on development with leadership, shaping architecture, PoCs, and scalable ML pipelines.

You’ll work with ML engineers, tech leads, product teams, and creatives to transform live sports data into immersive experiences, while advancing cloud‑hosted inference and production readiness.

Qualifications

• Seasoned leader in software engineering or technical delivery.
• Experience deploying ML systems to production with monitoring and retraining.
• Experience leading or mentoring engineering squads.
• Hands-on building/training deep learning models in PyTorch.
• Familiarity with MLOps tooling such as MLflow and CI/CD workflows.
• Experience with cloud platforms AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with sequence models or generative models and real-time data.
• Ability balance leadership with active development.
• Strong stakeholder communication and delivery planning.

What Your Day Will Look Like

As a Technical Delivery Lead, you’ll sit at the center of engineering execution, technical strategy, and machine learning innovation.

Your role combines leadership with hands‑on development. You’ll guide engineering squads delivering complex AI‑driven systems while contributing directly to architecture, Proof of Concepts, and high‑complexity technical challenges.

You’ll work closely with Machine Learning Engineers, Tech Leads, Technical Architects, Product teams, and creatives to build intelligent systems that transform live sports data into immersive digital experiences.

One day you might be shaping scalable ML pipelines for motion synthesis and trajectory prediction. The next, you could be prototyping cloud‑hosted inference services, reviewing technical approaches, or stepping into the codebase to unblock delivery.

You’ll help teams apply cutting‑edge ML techniques, including Transformers, Graph Neural Networks, Diffusion models, and real‑time geometry pipelines, while ensuring solutions remain scalable, maintainable, and production‑ready.

Because we believe leadership starts with technical credibility, you’ll stay hands‑on at your core. Around 60% of your time will involve active engineering work: building POCs, solving difficult technical problems, improving tooling, and supporting critical delivery initiatives.

You’ll also help evolve engineering standards, delivery practices, and technical governance across the business.

Your Background

You don’t need to tick every box, but we’re generally looking for:

• Strong experience in software engineering, technical delivery, or technical leadership
• Experience deploying ML systems into production, including serving, monitoring, and retraining
• Experience leading or mentoring engineering squads
• Hands‑on experience building and training deep learning models in PyTorch
• Familiarity with MLOps tooling such as MLflow and CI/CD workflows
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Experience with sequence models (e.g. transformers, RNNs) or generative models (e.g. diffusion, flow, or GANs) — applied to any domain; experience with spatiotemporal, time‑series, or motion/trajectory data is a strong plus.
• Experience balancing leadership responsibilities with active development
• Strong stakeholder communication and delivery planning skills
• Willingness to work on‑site in our Alkmaar office

Nice to Have (But Not Required)

• Strong understanding of scalable systems, APIs, and cloud‑native architectures
• Understanding of real‑time data systems or 3D graphics pipelines
• Experience with Unity or game engines
• Interest in football or other team sports
