Job summary

Etteplan zoekt een Technical Author die technische informatie kort en duidelijk naar de eindgebruiker vertaalt. Je maakt handleidingen voor installatie, gebruik en onderhoud en werkt met de nieuwste producten en ontwikkelingen. Je beschrijft informatie op basis van klantinformatie, interviewt klanten en onderhoudt contact.

Je schrijft duidelijke teksten en maakt illustraties; je levert ook advies aan de klant. Je werkt zowel zelfstandig als in een team en reist naar klantlocaties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor/Master niveau in technologie of taal.
• Technische achtergrond of affiniteit met technologie.
• Goede communicatie in Nederlands en Engels.
• In staat om zowel zelfstandig als in team te werken.
• In staat om klantrelaties op te bouwen en te onderhouden.
• Kennis van XML is een voordeel.

Responsibilities

• De handleidingen opstellen voor installatie, gebruik en onderhoud van producten.
• Informatie verzamelen bij de klant en door interviews.
• Duidelijke teksten schrijven en illustraties voorbereiden.
• Advies geven aan de klant bij de documentatie.
• Projecten bij de klant uitvoeren op locatie.

As a Technical Author you are able to communicate technical information in a compact and clear way to the end user. You translate complex information into structured and user-friendly content.

You can be either an experienced Technical Author looking for a new challenge, or we can offer you a traineeship to become one.

What will you do as a Technical Author?

Every manual at Etteplan is different. As a Technical Author at Etteplan you describe technical information for installation, use and maintenance of products in the broadest sense of the word: from a bicycle to an airplane. You ensure that technical issues are displayed clearly and comprehensibly. In addition, you are often part of a team, where together you ensure the best end result for the customer.

You draw up the technical information based on information provided by the customer and by interviewing the customer. You maintain contact with customers and collect and study information about the products to be described. You write clear and correct texts and prepare illustrations. In addition to providing the documentation to the customer, you also have an advisory role towards the customer.

Executing projects at the customer's location is no problem for you.

Who are we looking for?

• You have a completed education in the field of technology or language (Bachelor/Master level).
• You have a technical background and/or affinity with technology.
• You have good communication skills.
• You have excellent knowledge of the Dutch and English language, both spoken and written.
• You are able to work independently, but also like to work in a team.
• You are able to build and maintain customer relationships.
• Knowledge of structured data, such as XML, is an advantage.

Additional requirements

• You are in possession of driver's license B.
