Unifyrecruitment is seeking a motivated Technical Advisor to oversee safe, efficient fieldwork and quality control on installation projects. You will act as the primary contact for field crews and guide customers on site-related technical activities, coordinating with project managers and technical support teams to keep work on spec, on time and on budget.

The role requires strong leadership, planning and communication skills, experience in construction, and familiarity with oil and gas safety

Job description

Our client is seeking a motivated Technical Advisor responsible for ensuring that fieldwork is performed safely, efficiently, and in a quality-controlled manner. The Technical Advisor will serve as the primary contact for the field crew performing installation works and will guide the customer regarding site-related technical activities. You will collaborate with the field installation team, the Lead Technical Advisor or Construction Manager, as well as the Project Manager(s) and all relevant technical support departments to achieve these goals. Additionally, the Technical Advisor can provide technical supervision on installation works performed by third parties under the client’s oversight.

• Ensure that jobs are executed efficiently and that the field crew has all the necessary resources to complete the project within the specified constraints (on spec, on time, on budget).
• Proactively participate in the project’s pre-planning activities from initiation to completion, including scope of work, site survey, data sheets, drawings, tools and equipment, installation manuals, TRA, ITP, method statement, installation schedule, and project handover to the client.
• Communicate proactively with Project Managers and technical support departments about any site-related constraints that may affect the project outcome and contribute to finding solutions to get the project back on track.
• Coordinate communication among your team members, the customer, and subcontractors as needed.
• Ensure that all safety policies and procedures are being followed.
• Assist with the maintenance of company-owned equipment as needed and communicate with the department head regarding equipment issues.
• Help the Project Manager identify scope of work changes, on-site waiting hours, and/or claimable inefficiencies or costs.
• Attend job walks to assist the Project Managers in assessing site conditions and developing the scope of work for customer quotations.
• Ensure that all QA/QC policies and procedures are being adhered to.
• Assist with the training of employees/installation workers as needed.
• Assume site-related project duties of a working supervisor when required.
• Expected to add value, be solution-driven, and help drive continuous improvement to enhance the value proposition.
• Expected to meet and exceed Supervisor competencies.
• High standards for safety and work practices.
• Skills in coaching, delegating responsibilities, building trust, communication, decision-making, and planning & organizing.
• Significant technical experience in related construction works.
• Familiarity with product lines and installation work.
• Critical, problem-solving attitude with a proactive and collaborative approach focused on quality.
• Proficient in MS Office (MS Excel, Word).
• Able to write, read, and converse effectively in both English and Dutch, with the capability to explain technical constraints and provide solutions to third parties.
• Strong leadership skills with convincing qualities.
• Experience with safety and quality rules and requirements in the oil and gas industry.
• Strong planning and organizing skills.
• Capable of working within a team with good communication skills (Dutch and English).
• VCA VOL certification.
• Willingness to travel internationally.
