Job title: Tech Lead (Science Foundation Squad) – Location: Delft, the Netherlands

Your key responsibilities

• Architect and oversee the deployment of web applications within existing frameworks and backend components
• Implement and promote best practices in DevOps, CI/CD, security, and software quality
• Design, build, and manage AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (especially AWS CDK), covering compute, storage, and networking services
• Own and continuously improve infrastructure and platforms for application development, with a strong focus on developer experience
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve performance bottlenecks across web applications and backend systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions across the technology stack

You bring

• 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, software development, or technical leadership
• Proven experience deploying and managing web applications on AWS
• Strong knowledge of Python‑based backend systems (e.g., Dash Enterprise) and experience with scientific data processing
• Familiarity with relational databases and handling large‑scale data
• Experience with Arcitecta Mediaflux for data management, experience in an R&D or scientific computing environment, or similar (nice to have)
• Familiarity with AI‑assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar (nice to have)
