Budget Thuis is seeking a senior, hands-on Tech Lead for our Customer Care AI stack, including an LLM-powered chatbot with voice, the Knowledge Base/RAG pipeline behind it, and the tooling that keeps improving both. Real customers with real questions will rely on what you and the team build.

This leadership-forward role is roughly 70% leadership and 30% hands-on, with mentoring responsibility, and a 50/50 hybrid work arrangement designed to help you grow and deliver reliably.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Tech Lead, Staff Engineer, or Engineering Lead in a software team.
• Solid C# fundamentals, with Kubernetes and Azure knowledge to reason about production systems.
• Familiarity with real-time web technologies like WebSockets and React.
• Communication that works with engineers and stakeholders who may not know a RAG pipeline.
• Track record of mentoring and developing people around you.

Responsibilities

• Translating product and domain challenges into clear technical approaches.
• Reviewing designs, pairing with engineers, and coaching them through hard decisions.
• Keeping services observable, secure, resilient, and production-ready on Kubernetes.
• Working with the architect on where team systems end and domain begins.
• Improving tooling, CI/CD, and testing practices for long-term payoff.
• Building a culture where people own what they ship and keep learning.
