Job summary

Manuport Logistics (MPL) in Rotterdam is seeking an experienced Teamleader Import to lead our import professionals, coach the team and drive performance. You will ensure the team has what it needs to succeed and foster both professional and personal growth.

You will roll up your sleeves in busy periods, lead by example, and ensure customers receive the service MPL is known for. Strong knowledge of ocean freight, docs, and customs is essential.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in ocean freight forwarding (import).
• Proven ability to lead a team within forwarding or logistics.
• Strong knowledge of shipping documentation, customs processes and international transport regulations.
• Fluent in Dutch and English; other languages a plus.
• Experience with transport management systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach the import team to deliver results.
• Provide support and development for team members.
• Ensure service levels, accuracy, and timely operations.
• Identify and drive process improvements in imports.

You will lead a team of import professionals and make sure they have everything they need to succeed. You coach, support and challenge your colleagues every day. You celebrate successes, address issues when needed and help your team grow both professionally and personally.

You are not afraid to roll up your sleeves and jump into operations when required. You lead by example, keep an overview in busy periods and make sure customers receive the service they expect from MPL.

You know the forwarding business. You understand customer needs, spot opportunities before others do and always look for ways to improve processes, service levels and team performance.

Job Requirements

• Extensive experience in ocean freight forwarding, with a strong focus on import operations.
• Proven experience leading a team within a forwarding or logistics environment.
• Strong knowledge of shipping documentation, customs processes and international transport regulations.
• The ability to prioritize, organize and keep control in a fast-paced operational environment.
• A customer-focused mindset combined with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Fluent in Dutch and English. Additional languages are always a plus.
• Comfortable working with transport management systems and continuously looking for smarter ways of working.
