Job summary

NTS Drachten in the Netherlands leads a production environment where ultra-precise parts are produced for semiconductor and analytical industries. As Production Team Leader you guide a 20–25 person team across Assembly, Heat Treatment, EDM, and machining, setting direction at an independent site.

Job Description

As a Production Team Leader at NTS Drachten, you lead a production environment where highly accurate precision parts are made for leading customers in the semiconductor and analytical industry. NTS Drachten, with over 120 employees, is a compact and independent location, separate from the other NTS sites. This makes this role distinctly independent: the lines are short, and you have plenty of room to set the direction yourself.

What we create here requires true craftsmanship. Think of ultra-precise wire EDM and machining down to the micron level, in high-quality and sometimes exotic materials, where precise volume production and challenging NPI processes alternate. As a Production Team Leader, you ensure that this craftsmanship runs smoothly, safely, and with quality on the shop floor every day.

You are responsible for leading and developing a team of approximately 20 to 25 employees and oversee multiple departments, including Assembly, Heat Treatment, EDM, and conventional machining. You actively involve your team in the organization's developments, in improving efficiency and quality awareness, and together with management, translate departmental policies into concrete team objectives. Throughout the production process, you continuously focus on safety, quality, logistics, and technology, and adjust as needed.

You are part of a team of three team leaders and report directly to the Production Manager, who is responsible for the entire production. This gives you the opportunity to take ownership of the output, quality, and development of your department.

Furthermore, your responsibilities include:

• Leading and developing your team and the underlying departments, including Assembly, Heat Treatment, EDM, and conventional machining;
• Translating departmental policies into concrete team objectives and daily monitoring of planning, quality, and delivery reliability;
• Coaching, guiding, and developing employees, including related HR tasks;
• Monitoring and adjusting performance indicators, such as daily planning realization, quality, and time registration;
• Addressing complex, departmental disruptions and quality issues and ensuring structural solutions;
• Investigating and implementing process improvements to streamline work processes;
• Participating in daily production meetings and coordinating with colleagues from Quality, Work Preparation, Planning, NPI, and Projects.

Requirements

We are looking for a decisive and connecting leader with the following background:

• Minimum of vocational level 4 or higher education, preferably with a completed technical education;
• Demonstrable experience in managing (technical) employees;
• Strong leadership and coaching skills;
• Affinity with technology and the high-tech manufacturing industry;
• Decisiveness, entrepreneurship, and sense of responsibility;
• A proactive attitude and a strong drive for continuous improvement;
• Good command of Dutch and English, both written and spoken.

• Salary ranging from €4,800.00 to €6,000.00 gross per month, depending on experience and qualifications;
