Job summary

Seequent Ltd. in Delft, Netherlands, is seeking a Cloud Architect to refine and execute its cloud architecture roadmap across the product portfolio. You will partner with Product, Engineering, and vendors to align implementations with architectural direction and promote convergence.

You will define non-functional requirements, evaluate modern cloud patterns, and communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including Seequent's global teams.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software development experience in SaaS on cloud.
• 2+ years as an architect for a large-scale SaaS or cloud provider.
• Experience communicating architectural concepts to diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Refine and implement cloud architecture roadmap and strategy.
• Partner with Product and Engineering teams to align implementations with architectural direction.
• Recommend architectural patterns and technology selections.

We operate in 145+ countries while proudly maintaining headquarters in New Zealand. **The Role** Reporting to the Director, Architecture, Distinguished Architect, this role is part of Seequent’s Global Architecture Team and is responsible for refining, communicating, and implementing the cloud architecture strategy across Seequent’s portfolio. The role partners with Product, Engineering, technical leaders, cloud providers, vendors, customers, and partners to align implementations with architectural direction and promote technical convergence. **In this role, you will have the opportunity to:** * Refine, communicate, and help implement Seequent’s cloud architecture roadmap and strategy across the product portfolio.* Partner with Product and Engineering teams to align implementations with architectural direction and drive architectural and technical convergence.* Recommend architectural patterns and technology selections that support the Global Architecture Team’s strategic vision.* Evaluate team architectures and APIs for alignment with Seequent’s vision, including trade-offs across architectural patterns and styles.* Assess new and updated “paved path” technologies, identify gaps, and trial emerging options with cloud providers and technology vendors.* Define, document, and promote critical non-functional requirements, proposing updates in line with modern best practices.* Communicate complex architectural concepts and the rationale for decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders across Seequent and Bentley Systems.* Represent Seequent in platform integration and product or solution discussions with Bentley teams, key customers, and partners.**To be successful in this role, you should have:** * 7+ years’ experience in software development, building SaaS software in a cloud and Infrastructure as Code environment.* 2+ years’ experience as an architect, or equivalent, for a large-scale SaaS provider or cloud hyperscaler.* Proven problem-solving and lateral-thinking capability at platform or system architecture level.* Experience improving scalability, availability, and performance in cloud environments.* Experience developing, documenting, and communicating an architectural strategy for a significant global, cloud-based SaaS solution.* Ability to evaluate modern cloud architectures, technologies, APIs, and best practices for use across a product portfolio.* Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex architectural concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.* Experience collaborating remotely across teams, countries, time zones, and organisational boundaries.**Additional Information** Hybrid work from the local office 2 days a week and home-based the remainder of the week.#LI-DM1 **Our Commitment to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion** At Seequent, we champion the uniqueness of each individual.
