Job summary

Deployteq is seeking a Senior Engineer / Team Lead to guide a distributed development team in building scalable, reliable systems. This role blends hands-on engineering with leadership to deliver high-quality software while nurturing a strong engineering culture.

You will collaborate with the Technical Product Lead, Principal Architect, Product Owner, and Product Director to translate requirements into epic and user stories, coaching engineers and maintaining momentum in a remote setting.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership or mentoring experience in a remote or distributed team.
• Strong background in building backend systems and scalable architectures.
• Experience with Kubernetes-enabled deployments and infrastructure awareness.
• Ability to communicate clearly across roles and translate requirements into tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and set coding standards for the team.
• Mentor engineers in a remote environment and foster ownership.
• Own day-to-day execution and ensure tasks are well-scoped and delivered on time.
• Collaborate with Product Owner and Product Director to refine requirements into epics and user stories.
• Coordinate with Technical Product Lead and Principal Architect on architectural decisions.
• Enforce high engineering standards through code reviews and design discussions.
• Contribute to scalable, distributed system design and architecture decisions.
• Guide the team in Kubernetes-based operations and infrastructure best practices.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Engineer / Team Lead to guide and support a distributed development team in building scalable, reliable systems. This role combines hands‑on engineering with team leadership, ensuring high‑quality delivery while fostering a strong engineering culture.

You will work closely with the Technical Product Lead (TPL), Principal Architect (PA), Product owner (PO) and Product Director (PD) to translate user/ business requirements and technical direction into execution, while coaching engineers and maintaining delivery momentum across a remote setup.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership
  Lead by example through hands‑on development, setting standards for code quality, performance, and maintainability.
• Team Guidance & Mentorship
  Support and mentor engineers in a remote environment, helping them grow technically and professionally. Provide regular feedback and foster ownership within the team.
• Execution & Delivery
  Own the day‑to‑day execution of work. Ensure tasks are well understood, properly scoped, and delivered on time.
• Collaboration with PO& PD
  Work closely with the Product owner and product director on business requirements and translate/ refine this into epic and user stories.
• Collaboration with TPL & PA
  Work closely with the Technical Product Lead and Principal Architect to implement architectural decisions and refine technical approaches.
• Code Reviews & Best Practices
  Enforce high engineering standards through code reviews, design discussions, and continuous improvement of development practices.
• Scalable System Design
  Contribute to the design and implementation of scalable, distributed systems.
• Kubernetes & Infrastructure Awareness
  Guide the team in building and operating applications in a Kubernetes‑based environment, ensuring reliability and scalability.
• Remote Team Operations
  Facilitate effective communication, clarity, and collaboration within a fully or partially remote team.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong Software Engineering Background
  Extensive experience building backend systems in a modern programming language (Go is a strong plus, not a requirement).
• Leadership Experience
  Proven experience leading or mentoring engineers, preferably in a remote or distributed team setup.
• Distributed Systems Knowledge
  Solid understanding of scalable architectures, APIs, and system integrations.
• Kubernetes Familiarity
  Experience with containerized applications and a good understanding of Kubernetes concepts and operations.
• Pragmatic Problem Solving
  Ability to balance speed and quality, making practical decisions in complex environments. Propose different options to Product owner, to come to the best impact‑effort solution.
• Communication Skills
  Clear and effective communicator, able to align team members and collaborate across roles.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Golang in production environments
• Familiarity with event‑driven architectures (e.g., messaging systems)
• Experience with cloud platforms and infrastructure‑as‑code
• Exposure to high‑throughput or data‑intensive systems
• Experience with AI to optimize workflow and in solutions towards end users.
