Trinamics is seeking a senior test engineer to verify software for interventional X-ray systems within a global health tech client’s R&D team in the Eindhoven region. You will translate system requirements into measurable tests, automate where possible, and support release readiness in a regulated environment.

The role offers a secondment through Trinamics with a direct contract path, and hybrid work averaging three days in the office and two from home; client-aligned terms apply.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience verifying medical device software, SaMD or regulated software.
• Proficiency in requirement-based verification and risk-based testing.
• Experience with test automation and applying AI in testing.
• Knowledge of X-ray systems and image quality testing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Turn requirements into clear, measurable test cases including automation.
• Write and run system, integration and regression tests.
• Develop and maintain test scripts and select appropriate tools.
• Perform threat modelling and assess system risks.
• Collaborate with developers to resolve defects and ensure release readiness.

About our client

Our client is a global health technology company with a large R&D site in the Eindhoven region. Its Image Guided Therapy business develops interventional X-ray systems used worldwide for minimally invasive procedures in cardiology, oncology and neurology. Development teams in the Netherlands work closely with colleagues in India and other countries.

What you’ll do

You join the Systems Engineering department within the interventional applications R&D organisation. The team covers system design, system verification, usability and validation. Your focus is verifying medical device software, with particular attention to image quality, in combination with an interventional X-ray system. In practice you will:

• Turn system requirements into clear, measurable test cases (often automated) that cover functionality, interactions and edge cases
• Write system test scripts and choose the right tools and languages within the existing test frameworks
• Find system-level risks through threat modelling and system analysis, and design test scenarios that catch defects early
• Run functional, integration and regression tests, both manually and automated
• Analyse test results, find root causes through systematic debugging, and track requirement coverage, test execution and defect closure
• Work with developers and other engineers to resolve defects
• Take part in system integration and give input on release readiness and quality
• Help build test automation frameworks and reusable test scripts
• Guide junior colleagues in the team and share your knowledge of testing methods and tools

This is a senior position. You bring structure to the work and are comfortable in a regulated development environment.

What you bring

• A degree in Engineering or equivalent
• Several years of experience verifying medical device software, Software as a Medical Device (SaMD), or software in another regulated domain
• Experience with requirement-based verification, risk-based testing, system integration testing and release verification
• Experience with Behavior Driven Development, defect triage and test management systems
• Experience with test automation and applying AI in testing
• Experience with X-ray systems and/or image quality testing is a strong plus
