Job summary

Nouvall Engineering Services BV in the Netherlands is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to design and integrate complex technical systems. You will ensure mechanical, hydraulic, electrical power and control subsystems work together safely and efficiently on offshore and heavy maritime projects.

You will define architectures, interfaces and technical requirements, coordinate disciplines, and validate designs against standards and customer needs.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Control Engineering or related technical discipline.
• At least 8 years of experience in a Systems Engineering role.
• Experience within offshore, maritime or heavy steel construction environments.
• Strong expertise in mechanical, electrical or control systems with hydraulics understanding.
• Ability to oversee the complete system while detailing technical aspects.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and engineer complete, safe and cost-effective system designs.

• Act as a technical sparring partner for engineers throughout all project phases.

• Prepare technical documentation, including system descriptions, interface documents and test plans.
• Document and substantiate technical decisions.
• Contribute to quality improvements, standards and knowledge development within the engineering department.
• Occasionally support projects at customer sites or offshore locations.

In this role, you will be responsible for the integrated design and functioning of complex technical systems. You ensure that mechanical structures, hydraulic systems, electrical power supply and control systems work together seamlessly. The projects involve advanced equipment such as offshore cranes, cable-lay systems, pile handling equipment and automated lifting solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and engineer complete, safe and cost-effective system designs;
• Define the overall system architecture, interfaces and technical requirements;
• Coordinate and align mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and control engineering disciplines;
• Act as a technical sparring partner for engineers throughout all project phases;

• Strong expertise in either mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or control systems, combined with a broad understanding of hydraulics and other technical disciplines;
• Able to oversee the complete system while also working accurately on technical details;
• Strong communication skills and comfortable working in multidisciplinary project teams;
• Proactive, structured, practical and solution-oriented;
• Willing to travel occasionally to client and offshore locations;
• Excellent command of English; Dutch is preferred;
• In possession of an EU passport or valid work permit for the Netherlands.
