Job summary

Single Quantum in Delft, Netherlands, is seeking a dedicated System Test Engineer to join our Production Lab. You will test, characterize and validate SNSPD systems, preparing them for a global customer base, in collaboration with our physicists and engineers.

The role requires a precise working attitude, fluent English, and the ability to work independently. You will contribute to process improvements as we scale up, ensuring on-time delivery and detector quality goals.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or HBO degree in Physics, Optics, Photonics, Nanotechnology, or equivalent.
Precise working attitude.
Great communication and teamwork skills.
A high sense of commitment and responsibility.
Good time management skills.
Confidence in working independently.
Fluent in English.
Passion for physics and unique technologies.
The following are a plus: Experience with laser set-ups, fiber-based optics, Python and automation, nanofabrication, cryogenics, knowledge of (quantum) optics, work experience in a physics lab or clean room.

Responsibilities

Perform optical and electrical characterization of SNSPDs using lab equipment.
Execute quality control and performance validation of complete systems.
Troubleshoot and solve issues that arise.
Check and maintain characterization setups for accuracy.
Mount detectors and check cryostat performance.
Communicate with Sales to meet deadlines and quality expectations.
Contribute to feedback cycles with Detector Testing, Cryostat, Driver Assembly, and Development teams.
