Job summary

SkyNRG is seeking a System Administrator to build and own our hybrid IT infrastructure, supporting both corporate and production environments from Amsterdam. The role covers Windows Server, AD, M365, Entra ID, Intune, Azure, backups, and security with SOC collaboration. Regular travel to production sites is required as projects scale.

You will join an entrepreneurial team, with growth opportunities as SkyNRG expands its SAF production capabilities and IT footprint.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a System Administrator or similar infrastructure role.
• Strong Windows Server and Active Directory knowledge (DNS, DHCP, GPO).
• Hands-on with Hyper-V or VMware virtualization (clustering/shared storage).
• Experience with M365, Entra ID, Intune, Azure.
• Experience with backup and disaster recovery tooling.
• Experience with HPE server/storage hardware.
• PowerShell scripting for automation.

About the role

This isn’t a role where everything has already been built. As SkyNRG expands its Sustainable Aviation Fuel production capabilities, our IT infrastructure is growing with us. We are looking for a System Administrator who is excited to build, improve, and take ownership of the infrastructure supporting both our corporate environment and new production sites.

From Microsoft 365 and Azure to on-premises servers, storage, virtualization, and OT hosting environments, this role offers broad ownership across SkyNRG’s hybrid infrastructure. The focus is clear: keeping critical systems secure, resilient, and ready to scale as the company grows.

Based at our Amsterdam headquarters, the role also involves regular travel to our production site during construction and commissioning and reports to the IT Operations & Infrastructure Manager.

Your Responsibilities:

• Build and operate the on-premises server, storage, and virtualization platforms at headquarters and production sites, including the OT hosting environment

• Administer Windows Server and Active Directory, including the domain services that support our production environment

• Manage Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, and Azure resources, preferably through infrastructure as code

• Own backup, recovery, and disaster recovery, including regular restore tests and offline-capable backups for OT systems

• Run patching, hardening, and vulnerability remediation for servers and endpoints

• Manage the hardware lifecycle with our suppliers, from procurement and installation to support and replacement

• Keep documentation, runbooks, and monitoring up to date, and support incident response with our security team and managed SOC provider

Your profile

You recognize yourself in the following:

• 3+ years of experience as a System Administrator or similar infrastructure role

• Strong knowledge of Windows Server and Active Directory, including DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy

• Hands-on experience with Hyper-V or VMware (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter) virtualization, including clustering and shared storage

• Experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, and Microsoft Azure

• Experience with backup and disaster recovery tooling and processes

• Experience managing HPE server and storage hardware

• PowerShell scripting for automation and administration

• Professional working proficiency in English

Nice‑to‑haves:

• Microsoft (for example AZ-104 or MD-102), VMware VCP, ITIL, or similar certifications

• Infrastructure as code with Bicep or Terraform, and Git-based workflows

• Experience administering SQL Server databases

• Experience supporting OT or industrial environments, or working alongside automation vendors

• Knowledge of infrastructure monitoring and security hardening (for example CIS benchmarks)

• Experience working in regulated environments (for example NIS2 or ISO 27001)

• Dutch language skills

You are proactive, dependable, and take pride in keeping critical systems running smoothly. You communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical colleagues, remain calm under pressure, and enjoy sharing knowledge with your team.
