Qualifications

• Derdejaars bachelor- of masterstudent met een sterke academische staat van dienst.
• Interesse in competitie en/of regelgeving is een pré.
• Eager om te leren, proactief en georganiseerd.

Responsibilities

• Uitvoeren van juridisch onderzoek voor de zaken waarmee het kantoor werkt.
• U deelt een kantoor met een van onze advocaten en gaat mee naar rechtbanken en klantvergaderingen.
• Leer on-the-job via regelmatig contact met een partner en een senior associate op een zaak; neem deel aan onderwijs- en sociale programma's van het kantoor.

Omschrijving

Are you an eager student, looking to gain experience in a Dutch leading law firm with an international focus? Do you have specific interest in competition and/or regulation? And do you want to experience De Brauw's culture and environment for yourself?

Your role as a student trainee

A student traineeship is the best way to get to know our firm and the practice, as you will get a proper view of what our lawyers do on a daily basis. As a student trainee, you will conduct legal research for the matters we work on. You will share an office with one of our lawyers, so you will be able to ask them anything - and accompany them to court hearings and client meetings. You will learn on the job, through regular contact with a partner and a senior associate on any given matter, as well as with colleagues from other practice groups. You will also be able to fully participate in all of our educational and social programmes, whether practice-specific or firmwide.

The practice

Our Competition & Regulation practice gives strategic advice to multinational clients in enforcement actions and transactions. We have experience in obtaining clearance for complex merger control cases involving potential remedies before the European Commission and other competition agencies worldwide. Our team has handled many high-profile, data-intensive cartel cases before the European Commission, and has a track record of getting fines annulled before the European courts. We have vast experience in taking the lead in cross-border matters with tight cost-control measures in place, and efficiently coordinating merger filings, often in numerous jurisdictions, worldwide. We also participate in pending civil cartel damages actions in the Netherlands, and work closely with our civil litigation specialists to assist our clients in their most complex matters.
