What do we expect of you?

As a Structural Engineer, you play an active role in driving project innovation and further strengthening our Engineering capabilities.

  • Providing evidence in a report that our designs fulfil applicable codes and standards with respect to structural and mechanical strength, stiffness and fatigue lifetime.
  • Defining and safeguarding design assumptions to guarantee safe and reliable operation.
  • Performing FEM modelling and structural calculations.
  • Specifying requirements for purchased components.
  • Optimising designs with a focus on material efficiency, manufacturability, dimensions, weight, functional lifetime and maintenance.
  • Contributing to an efficient work process with design engineers, CAD engineers, colleague structural engineers and the workshop.
  • Creating software tools for fast engineering and supervising and guiding the work of fellow structural engineers.

  • Fluency in Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
  • 2–5 years’ experience as a Structural Engineer within heavy mechanical engineering, preferably in the offshore or maritime sector.
  • A strong affinity with complex mechanical systems.
  • The ability to adapt quickly to new requirements and to prioritise effectively.

  • An EU passport or valid work permit for The Netherlands.
  • A good command of Dutch and English verbally and in writing.
