Job summary

uniQure seeks a Web Architect & Data Platform Engineer to own the technical direction for our websites and data platform. You will steer external agencies, review architecture, ensure security and scalability, and build data pipelines on Microsoft Fabric.

You will also drive AI-enabled development, maintain Power BI reports, and collaborate with IT teams to integrate systems across the organization.

Qualifications

• Experience with Python, SQL, JS, and modern web technologies (HTML, CSS, TS frameworks).
• Experience with data engineering and integrations.
• Hands-on full-stack web development and architecture.
• Experience directing external agencies on website/software projects.
• Strong architectural thinking and problem-solving.
• Experience in international organizations.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric or cloud data platforms (Azure, Databricks, Synapse).
• Power BI report building experience.
• Experience with Workato or similar integrations tools.
• Broader Azure experience beyond Fabric (DevOps, App Services, Storage).
• Familiarity with AI coding tools in real development work.
• Experience reviewing code from others (vendors/internal).
• Experience with CMS or hosting platforms; WCAG, SEO, accessibility, and security best practices.
• CI/CD and DevOps for web app delivery.
• 5+ years in IT/biotech/pharma.

Responsibilities

• Own the architectural direction for uniQure's websites and web apps.Review and guide agency work on architecture, tech stack, and implementation.Ensure code quality, performance, accessibility, and security per standards.Build/maintain the Data Platform on Microsoft Fabric and Lakehouse layers.Develop data pipelines using Spark, Python and SQL; create Power BI reports as needed.Act as a general IT application engineer for data integration and scripting.Use AI tools to accelerate development and understand their workings.Refactor and harden code to production readiness.Coordinate with external suppliers for integration/portal/website work.
