Job summary

Maastricht MaakT is seeking a data-driven logistics optimization specialist to revolutionize planning and operations at our Maastricht terminal. You will analyze data, design smarter workflows, and implement scalable automation that moves us toward world-class e-commerce logistics, while keeping the focus on steel products.

• Experience in process improvement and operations analytics.
• Proficient in Excel and Power BI with process-mapping skills.
• Familiarity with SQL, Python/R, or WMS/TMS/ERP systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze operational and logistics data to detect trends, bottlenecks, and automation opportunities.
• Map, redesign, and optimize core supply chain, logistics, and warehouse processes.
• Recommend and help implement digital tools, automation technologies, and scalable solutions.
• Work closely with the Data Analyst and the Customer Value Team to translate insights into action.
• Drive implementation projects with operational teams, ensuring smooth adoption and measurable impact.
• Define and monitor KPIs to measure success (e.g. error reduction, time savings, process automation rates).
• Support a culture of continuous improvement using methods like Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen.
• Strong analytical mindset with proven experience in process improvement, operations analytics, or digital transformation.
• Hands-on knowledge of tools like Excel, Power BI, and process mapping software; familiarity with SQL, Python/R, or WMS/TMS/ERP systems is a strong plus.
• Affinity with automation, digitalization, and scalable business models (experience with e-commerce or platform-driven operations is highly valued).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills - able to convince and align different teams.
• A proactive, hands-on attitude with the drive to not only analyze but also implement.
• Experience in logistics, manufacturing, warehousing, or supply chain optimization is a strong plus.

You will be at the heart of our mission to eliminate manual, error-prone and repetitive work at Maasterminal Maastricht . Using data and process analysis, you'll identify inefficiencies, design smarter workflows, and implement solutions that move us toward fully automated terminals. This role is not about day-to-day planning, but about strategically transforming planning and operations to the level of world-class e-commerce logistics only our core product is steel in every quality, size, and shape.
