Job summary

Brightlands Chemelot Campus is seeking a seasoned Business Development Manager to drive growth by attracting new companies and crafting compelling value propositions tailored to their needs. You will manage full acquisition processes from initial contact through lease signing, identify targets, support existing campus companies, and build strong relationships with stakeholders regionally.

This role requires on-site presence in Geleen at least three days per week, travel up to 10% across Europe,

Qualifications

• Academic background in chemistry, chemical engineering, or materials science.
• 10+ years of relevant commercial experience, preferably in sales or business development.
• Experience with real estate development or pilot/demo plant construction is a strong asset.
• Willing to be onsite on Geleen campus at least 3 days per week.
• Excellent command of English, both spoken and written.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% within Europe.

Responsibilities

• Manage full acquisition process from initial contact to lease signing.
• Identify and target companies aligned with campus innovation focus and develop engagement strategies.
• Support existing campus companies in realizing their growth ambitions.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders on campus and in the broader regional ecosystem.
• Monitor emerging trends and technologies relevant to the chemical and biomedical sectors.
• Understand the needs of innovative companies and align them with the campus's innovation proposition.
