Job summary

The Usual, Amsterdam, seeks a hands-on Finance Director to strengthen finance for the hotel management company and its portfolio. You will provide strategic financial insights, ensure accurate reporting, governance and compliance, and partner with leadership and shareholders.

With 10+ years in financial accounting, CA qualification, and fluency in English (Dutch preferred), you will lead a small finance team and drive the next growth phase across Europe.

Qualifications

• A proven background (10+ years) in financial and management accounting, including hospitality experience.
• Chartered accountant qualification is required.
• Knowledge of local European GAAP and IFRS is required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; experience with Exact and Lucanet accounting software (or similar) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead a finance team of 2 and ensure deliverables meet deadlines and quality standards.
• Provide strategic financial insights to leadership and shareholders to support decision-making.
• Oversee month-end close, budgeting, cashflow projections and IFRS-compliant reporting.
• Manage annual audits and tax compliance across all entities.
• Support acquisitions, openings and refurbishments with robust financial processes.
