Job summary

BKL Engineering in the Netherlands is looking for a Strategic Buyer to drive supplier development and procurements strategy within the Supply Chain team. You will collaborate closely with Engineering, Quality, and Operations to optimize the supplier base and to enhance overall supply chain performance.

You will lead supplier relationships, assess performance, and guide strategic collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners to support product development initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience in a strategic procurement role, preferably in a technical or manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of supplier management, supply chain and procurement strategies.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to persuade and influence.
• Experience with stakeholder management in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Analytical, results-oriented and proactive.
• Affinity with product development and technical collaborations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and strengthen our supplier base and supply chain.
• Select, develop and assess suppliers; manage relationships and performance.
• Shape and execute the procurement strategy.
• Support product development projects with internal stakeholders.
• Guide co-development projects with suppliers.
• Identify opportunities and risks within the supply chain.
• Carry out supplier scouting for new product development projects, new markets and new applications.
