Job summary

TomTom is seeking a Staff UX Designer for the Map Visualisation team to lead visual and technical direction of real-time 2D/3D geospatial rendering. You will partner with software engineers to define, prototype and ship features within TomTom's modern map rendering engine.

You’ll own map style evolution end-to-end, balance aesthetic quality with performance, and influence product roadmaps across engineering and design leadership.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in digital cartography and multi-zoom map design across cultures and regions.
• Proven track record building visually compelling 2D/3D map experiences from detail to global view.
• Extensive experience with spatial datasets and geospatial data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve long-term visual direction for TomTom's map rendering across 2D and 3D.
• Collaborate with engineers to specify rendering features, lighting models, shaders, and LOD strategies.
• Own core map styles end-to-end from ideation to production delivery.
• Influence product roadmap decisions and align with engineering leadership.
