Job summary

TomTom International BV's Maps POIs team seeks an Applied Scientist to design and improve data-driven ML solutions that enhance map accuracy, coverage, and usability. You will lead the design, implementation, and integration of scalable AI/ML systems and own end-to-end solutions.

You will mentor junior scientists, collaborate with product and program managers, shape architecture, and drive risk assessment and trade-offs across teams.

Qualifications

• Expertise in Applied Science and ML for POI/geospatial domains.
• Experience designing and deploying scalable AI/ML systems in production.
• Ability to tackle ambiguous problems and drive solutions to production.
• Strong system design and architecture understanding.
• Strong coding skills and production-quality code.
• Experience mentoring others and guiding teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation, and integration of scalable AI/ML systems within the POI domain.
• Own end-to-end AI/ML solutions for large-scale initiatives.
• Solve complex problems and drive data-driven solutions to production.
• Develop production-grade algorithms and ML models at scale.
• Shape architectural direction and influence cross-team decisions.
• Mentor Applied Scientists and support team growth.
• Collaborate with Product/Program Managers and leadership on AI/ML strategy.
