Job summary

Liberty ARC is seeking a Staff Training Specialist to coordinate, deliver, and document employee training programs to support staff competency, regulatory compliance, and quality service delivery. This role provides instruction, coaching, mentoring, and ongoing support to employees while maintaining accurate training records and ensuring required certifications are completed and maintained.

The position requires strong communication and presentation skills and the ability to teach hands-on

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • One year of experience with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Current Red Cross 1st Aid/CPR Instructor and SCIP-R instructor preferred; obtain within 3–12 months.
  • Must read and write English and have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule, train, document and coach employees on an ongoing basis.
  • Creates a positive learning environment.
  • Proactively shares information and resources with others.
  • Track and record training attendance and update training records.
  • Assist in curriculum assessment and updates of new trainings.
  • Identify obstacles and address them promptly to meet objectives.
  • Maintain training equipment, tools, and instructional materials for safety and organization.
  • Performs other duties as required.

FLSA: Non-Exempt

REPORTS TO: Organizational Development Manager

HOURS: Full time, 40 hours, day/evening per week. Weekends and Overtime as needed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Standing, sitting, reaching, bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, lifting up to 50 lbs., push and pull heavy loads. Physical ability to teach Strategies for Crisis Intervention and Prevention - Revised (SCIP-R) techniques and CPR

Job Summary

The Staff Training Specialist is responsible for coordinating, delivering, and documenting employee training programs to support staff competency, regulatory compliance, and quality service delivery. This position provides instruction, coaching, mentoring, and ongoing support to employees while maintaining accurate training records and ensuring required certifications are completed and maintained. The role requires strong communication and presentation skills, the ability to teach hands-on techniques such as CPR and SCIP-R, and a commitment to fostering a knowledgeable, confident, and well-prepared workforce.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • One year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is required.
  • Supervisory experience in a human services field preferred.
  • Prior presentation, mentoring, or teaching experience preferred.
  • Current Red Cross 1st Aid and CPR Instructor and OPWDD SCIP-R instructor certification preferred. Must obtain 1st Aid/CPR certification within (3) months of hire and must obtain SCIP-R Instructor certification within (1) year of hire.
  • Must be able to read and write the English language.
  • Must have Driver's License that meets agency standards and reliable transportation.
