Job summary

Lucid Motors in Europe is seeking a Staff GL Accountant to join the Accounting team across multiple European entities. The role focuses on month-end close, reconciliations, and intercompany eliminations, ensuring accuracy and compliance in a fast-paced automotive environment.

You will work with Tax and Audit teams, applying US GAAP and IFRS knowledge across countries, and contribute to process improvements and SOX controls. Fluency in English and ERP systems experience are essential.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of accounting experience.
• Bachelor or related field; professional certification preferred (CPA/ACCA).
• Public company and automotive industry experience preferred.
• Knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and local European GAAP.
• Working knowledge of SAP or Oracle ERP systems.
• Fluent in English; other languages a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to partner cross-functionally.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform month-end close activities including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Analyze financial data and investigate variances with explanations.
• Prepare intercompany eliminations and reconciliations.
• Support statutory financial statements and audits across Europe.
• Collaborate with Tax on VAT and CIT filings.
• Support SOX compliance through process improvements and controls.
• Handle ad hoc accounting projects as assigned.

We are currently seeking a Staff GL Accountant to be a part of the Accounting team of Lucid Europe working across multiple European entities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform various month-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliation, issues resolution, and analytical review.
• Analyze financial data and investigate variances, providing clear explanations.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate and resolve variances.
• Preparation of intercompany elimination entries and intercompany reconciliations;
• Analysis of various cash transactions to apply to correct GL Accounts;
• Statutory financial statement preparation, audits, and filings across multiple European countries;
• Work closely with the Tax department on relevant tax filings across multiple European countries (VAT, CIT).
• Identify, maintain, and enhance business processes and documentation as part of SOX compliance efforts.
• Review and improve accounting processes and internal controls.
• Special projects and other ad hoc assignments as assigned.

Qualifications:

• 5-7 years of relevant accounting experience
• Bachelor / Academic degree in accounting or a related field Professional certification preferred (e.g., CPA, ACCA, or equivalent)
• Public company and automotive industry experience preferred
• Knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and other local GAAP in Europe
• Working knowledge of SAP or Oracle ERP systems
• Fluency in English, other languages are a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to develop strong partnerships and work cross-functionally
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize appropriately and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Highly effective communication skills (verbal and written)
