Job summary

Vinted Group is seeking a senior engineering leader to drive the Supply domain within the Vinted Marketplace. You will shape the engineering strategy, align technology with product goals, and lead a team through architectural decisions at scale.

You will partner with the Engineering Director to establish coding standards, foster collaboration, and ensure systems handle high demand efficiently across Go, Ruby on Rails, MySQL, Elasticsearch, Kafka, Kubernetes, and Docker.

• Proven track record as a technical engineering leader (Staff/Principal level or equivalent).
• Ability to clearly communicate complex technical goals to diverse audiences.
• Able to drive architectural vision and iterate on software design.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with domain leadership to define and execute the engineering strategy.
• Own and improve the Supply domain within Vinted Marketplace.
• Set best practices for software engineering across the domain.
• Advocate for engineering initiatives and lead cross-functional projects.
• Create and maintain a technical roadmap for the domain and ensure team alignment.
• Coordinate with other domains on shared technical deliverables.
• Review code with peers via GitHub pull requests.

In this position, you’ll

• Work closely with domain leadership, drive co-creation of the domain's engineering strategy, and ensure that our technology strategy aligns with the product vision.
• Work closely with engineers, improve and own the Supply domain part of Vinted Marketplace.
• Collaborate with leadership to set the best practices for software engineering.
• Be a voice of the engineering team and a technical leader when it comes to initiating and supporting projects across the domain and the whole organisation.
• Create and maintain a technical roadmap for the domain, and ensure teams within the domain are involved in executing it.
• Collaborate with other domains on overarching deliverables and shared technical responsibilities.
• Collaborate with other developers through GitHub pull requests and code reviews.

About you

• You have a proven track record as a technical engineering leader (Staff/Principal equivalent), having successfully defined, led, and delivered major, company-wide technical initiatives.
• You can effectively communicate complex technical goals to both internal and external audiences.
• You can drive a clear architectural vision by collaborating and iterating on software design.
• You are excellent at communicating in spoken and written English.
• You are willing to take on new challenges and constantly grow as an engineer and leader.
• You have experience with high-scale, distributed systems and are willing to work with Go, Ruby on Rails, MySQL, and more. We don't expect you to be familiar with any of them beforehand.
• You have experience building and maintaining systems at a massive scale (e.g., handling 2+ million requests per minute), with deep knowledge of observability tools (Kibana, Grafana, Datadog) and a passion for introducing new practices.
