Job summary

Johnson & Johnson Surgical Vision Groningen in the Netherlands seeks a Staff Manufacturing Engineer specializing in automation and OT cybersecurity. Lead automation projects, validate systems, and ensure regulatory compliance in a medical device manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities include designing PLC/SCADA/HMI solutions, maintaining documentation, and collaborating across Engineering, IT, Quality, Operations, R&D, and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Robotics, Computer Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of automation, OT and cybersecurity experience in regulated manufacturing.
• Proven ability to design, implement, validate and troubleshoot automated systems.
• Strong OT cybersecurity knowledge and site-level policy application.

Responsibilities

• Lead automation projects from requirements through implementation and validation.
• Develop and maintain compliant project and validation documentation (URS, risk assessments, FAT, IQ/OQ/PQ).
• Design and troubleshoot PLC, SCADA, HMI, robotics, and vision systems to improve safety and productivity.
• Act as site OT and cybersecurity SME, applying enterprise policies locally.
• Maintain OT asset inventory and document security operating model for audits.
• Define procedures for password management, patching and maintenance with IT.
• Ensure compliance with cGMP, GxP, CSV, EHS, FDA, ISO 13485 and cybersecurity requirements.
• Analyze performance, lead problem solving, and communicate data-driven recommendations.
