Job summary

European Space Agency (ESA) at ESTEC, Noordwijk, Netherlands, seeks a Photonic EEEE Engineer within the Components Section of the Avionics and EEE Division. You will deliver expert technical support to ESA projects and help define technology development requirements and work plans, covering long- and short-term needs in photonic and detector EEEE.

A strong background in hardware and testing is essential. You will engage in feasibility studies, evaluation of procurement proposals and knowledge

Qualifications

• Master's degree in physics, electronics engineering, photonics, optoelectronics, microelectronics or related discipline.
• Professional experience with space projects is an asset.
• A PhD would be an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert technical support to ESA projects across all phases.
• Contribute to technology development requirements and work plans.
• Define and manage R&D activities for long- and short-term needs.
• Foster new application areas and cutting-edge technologies.
• Support ESCC/ECSS standardisation activities and knowledge transfer.
• Participate in feasibility studies, reviews and procurement proposals.
